Viewing Two Programs At One Time

Open two or more programs, but do not minimize them. Right click on an empty area of the taskbar and choose TILE WINDOWS VERTICALLY. This will allow you to view (or work) in either of the programs that are then open.

Paste Special

For our example, we are using Excel and Word. Select and copy something from one program (Excel) – this sends it to the clipboard. In Word, choose PASTE SPECIAL. Paste as a Microsoft Excel Worksheet Object. This pastes your spreadsheet into your Word document and when you double click on the embedded worksheet, you can edit it just like it was a spreadsheet.
Now, below that embedded worksheet, choose PASTE SPECIAL again. Now choose Paste LinkPaste as a Microsoft Excel Worksheet Object. This again pastes your spreadsheet into your Word document. The difference this time is that any change you make to your spreadsheet will now be automatically reflected in your Word document.
You can also Paste as a Hyperlink. This places your select worksheet cells into your Word document, but when you click on this area of your document, your document will close and you will be taken directly to that area of the spreadsheet where the information came from.

PRINT SCREEN

To print the screen you are viewing, press the PRINT SCREEN key. Notice that nothing happens. An image of the screen has been stored on the clipboard.
Now click Start, Programs, Accessories and Paint. Open Paint’s Edit menu and then select Paste to place your image in the Paint window. A message will probably tell you the image is larger than the current bit map; just click OK or Yes. You can then choose Print and a copy of your computer screen will be sent to the printer.

Hide Your Identity on the Internet

Avoid forms. Or fib on them. When filling out an online form that requires an email address, make one up or use your throwaway (free web email account like Hotmail) address.
Watch your mouth. Avoid public postings on the newsgroups – bulletin boards – discussion groups. Anything you post in public could end up archived somewhere in a searchable format.
Don’t respond to spam. This just encourages the spammers by verifying your e-mail address.
