DVD Recordables (DVD-RAM)

The DVD-RAM has arrived. The DVD-RAM is recordable and has 5.2GB of storage capacity. The cost is around $800.00. A DVD-RAM drive burns data to its media the same way a CD-rewritable drive does: A high-powered writing laser selectively melts areas along the spiral groove of a disc. But a DVD-RAM’s laser has a much shorter wavelength than a CD-RW’s, and a DVD-RAM disc contains tighter grooves, letting you cram much more information onto a DVD-RAM disc. The DVD-RAM is double-sided. The technology is still too new to be foolproof, so do not rush into it yet. But it is the start of a new technology. It can only be read on the type of a drive that wrote the DVD – also the new DVD rewritables when they become available will not be compatible with the DVD-RAM.

Deleting & Renaming Files In WORD

To delete or rename a file while in WORD, choose FILE – OPEN. From that screen, where you have a listing of your WORD documents, you can right-click on a file and choose DELETE or RENAME from the resulting menu.
