Acrobat Reader & PDF

Acrobat Reader is a small program that is provided free with many software programs you purchase or may be obtained for free by downloading it at many sites on the internet. It reads and prints documents that have been saved in the PDF (Portable Document Format) format. This is a useful little program since many sites on the internet provide documents in the PDF format. This include the IRS who offered all of the tax forms in this format.

Installing Windows 98 Upgrade

If you have purchased a copy of Windows 98 Upgrade – you can install it on a new drive without first installing Windows 95. Run the setup program for installing Windows 98. Since you have no operating system presently installed, you will be prompted to place your Windows 95 CD in the drive for verification that you are the owner of Windows 95 and a few files will be copied from it.

Reply or Forward Email?

When you have received an email that you think is worthy of being passed on to someone else, you would normally choose to FORWARD to message. But when the message has been forwarded too many times, it gets hard to find the message after you have to browse and browse through all of the addressing. This is a time when you would do a REPLY --- and then quote the message. When the REPLY TO message form opens, you can re-address the message to the person you wish to send it to.

In the REPLY window, you are able to edit the message (therefore, to delete all of the addressing that you do not want) ---- where in the FORWARD window, you do not even see the message ---- you can only see it mentioned in the Subject line.

In Netscape 4.5 and the latest Outlook Express, you can have your forwarded messages displayed – therefore, you can edit them.

Local ISP’s or National ISP’s

We have been stating that we think local ISP’s (Internet Service Providers) are the best route to go ---- and still do for everyone who remains here year around.

I guess we forgot (or didn’t think) about the people who spend half of the year here in Florida and the other half back home. I don’t really know the solution for that, but would like to know how you are handling your Internet account if you are one of those who travel back and forth. Please email us (wes@n-jcenter.com) and let us know so that we can evaluate this for others.
