Uninstalling AOL
America Online for Windows is just like any other program. To remove it, use the ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS icon from the Control Panel. It will give you the option to preserve any files you want to keep, such as e-mails and photos. When you have copied them to a safe place, then you can delete the AOL folders.
On the Macintosh, there is no uninstaller. Just back up the files you want to keep then drag the AOL folder to the Trash.
AOL sometimes leaves a few crumbs behind but they are easily cleaned up. On a Windows machine, open the Network control panel and delete any AOL adapters. On the Macintosh, use the Extensions Manager control panel to disable the AOL Link extensions.
AOL may have also customized Windows Internet Explorer. You can remove these changes with a free program called Internet Explorer Personalizer (http://accesscodes.ypermart.net)
Game by Electronic Arts
(from Access Magazine – January 28, 2001)
Majectic, a new game from Electronic Arts that launches next month – takes you outside of the computer. This game, for Windows only, will launch on EA.com, Electronic Arts’ gaming hub.
You are sent into an "X-files" world of conspiracy to uncover clues about a violent crime. You can play the entire game online, but to truly live it, you need to register your contact information at the site. Next thing you know, mysterious faxes and phone messages arrive, leading you through the adventures that make up the game. You can tap into others voice mail with your phone, characters sometimes send instant messages to your computer.
The game (which will probably cost no more than $10 a month as part of the EA.com premium service) attempts to make the game real to you – maybe too real. It create an intense scenario as the game collects real-life information about you and then spits that information back at you over the phone through the voices of murderers who exist only in the game. Faint of heart, beware.

Netscape 6.0
I still have not looked at Netscape 6.0 – but from the comments I have been hearing; people are not too happy with it. Many of them are uninstalling it and going back to Netscape 4.72.
Netscape 6.0 has changed where it stores your email. It is conforming to the same system as Microsofts Outlook Express. Your Mail folder in Outlook Express is stored under the Windows folder – then Application Data – then Microsoft – then Outlook Express. And in Netscape 6.0, your Mail folder is stored under the Windows folder – then Application Data – then Mozilla. Previously versions of Netscape were stored under Program Files – Netscape.
