This Week’s Meeting

John Watkins will be hosting the meeting and his topics will deal with digital cameras, USB zip drives and the usual question and answer sessions. Oh, don’t forget to ask him about his trip – I’m sure that he would be glad to tell you about it.

Windows ME and Epson Stylus 600 Printer
(from Smart Computing – October 2001)

Epson says that their Stylus 600 printer works with Windows ME ------ There is no driver for it on the Windows ME installation CD ---- Epson does not have a Windows ME driver for it on their web site ---- but the Windows 98 drivers can be downloaded from their web site and will work.
        Download it from http://support.epson.com/hardware/printer/inkjet/sc600_/filelibrary.html
This page will list two Windows 98 drivers for the Stylus Color 600 printer --- a Stylus Driver USB Updater and a Printer Driver 2.2EES. If your printer is connected to your computer’s USB port, download both files. If you are connected to the parallel port, download only the Printer Driver 2.2EES file.
Don’t forget to click the Special Usage Notes link at the top of the page. The Support page this leads to, which can tell you whether there are limitations using the Stylus 600 with Windows ME, will annoy you so much that you’ll decide either to go back to Windows 98 or get another printer.
