695Online

This was a message that 693Online sent to their customers.

“Because of the overwhelming growth in this area, we have expanded our internal network for you to access your  695online dial up account. This will enable us to add customers at a faster rate without interrupting service for any existing  customers.

The phone number that you are currently accessing the internet is (386) 742-4200. This number will be active until  Wednesday 03/26/03. The new phone dial up networking number is (386) 626-0324 and is currently active.”

Email Problem

Here is a new one for you.  Sending email from Netscape 7.0 – messages end up in the SENT folder.  But nobody  receives them.  We’ve told you that if your message ends up in the SENT folder, then it has been sent and the recipient has  received it.  But in this case, that was NOT happening.

Talked to a technician at Earthlink – they ask us to send them a message – they watched for it – but nothing arrived.  Ask us to try Outlook Express – that program would not even send them – gave us an error message and error number.  He used that and ask us to try a couple of things.  First since we were running Windows XP, he had us turn off the Internet Firewall Protection.  That didn’t help.  Next he had us turn off the Outgoing Mail Scan in Norton’s Antivirus Program.  That corrected everything.

After that, we uninstalled Norton Antivirus Program (it was a three month version that came with the computer).  And then installed a new copy

of Norton Antivirus and then we were allowed to use the Outgoing Mail Scan.
