Computer Club Info – January 19^th      2005

                                                Bob Cook gave a demonstration on internet safety measures .

Several Firewall protections were discussed such as Zone Alarm more can be found at Google search for Fire Wall.

TIP: cannot run two firewalls at the same time.

Anti–virus  programs Nod 32, Norton, McAffee, Avg and Grissoft.com, recommended  to protect against viruses attacking your computer.

Set up an account with PayPal or similar site when shopping on the internet to use as a temporary bank site.

TIP: Computer Crackers are worse than Hacker, (maybe the term is the clue).

John Prete will give more hints on free downloads and programs such as PP viewer and  is asking for hints or tips what the members would like on a CD he has made for another group and may make for us.
