Creating a Print File |

Our preferred electronic file format to print from is 'print quality' PDF (Portable Document Format) which can be created from most desktop publishing software on sale today. If your software does not currently enable you to produce a PDF file there are products available for purchase. We can accept your files on a variety of portable media: diskettes, CDs, Jazz and Zip disks and memory sticks. PC USERS (Windows 3.1/3.11/95/98 only) The Hertfordshire Display printer driver is good for laser and offset printing in either colour or black and white in the above Windows operating systems. Click here for the Hertfordshire Display printer driver and follow the wizard to download to a suitable empty folder on your hard drive in which you will be able to run the installation programme. How to install the Hertfordshire Display printer driver In Windows Explorer select the folder that you have downloaded the printer driver to and double click the self extracting file 'printsetup.exe' and click the 'extract' button to extract to the same folder. Again in Windows Explorer double click the file 'setup.exe' and follow the installation wizard. The Hertfordshire Display printer driver will now be available for use with all your applications. Preparing a printer file on a PC To print from your application select it as you would a printer in the normal way and 'print to file' to a folder on your hard drive as opposed to your local printer. Transfer the print file to suitable media or use your modem to send it to us electronically. PC USERS Windows NT4, Windows 2000 and Windows XP For laser

Use the add printer wizard to install the printer drivers in the normal way. To produce a print file follow instructions from above (Preparing a print file on a PC).

MAC USERS Our self extracting file for Mac Users includes PPDs for both laser and offset printing in either colour or black and white. Click here for the self extracting Mac User printer description file and follow the wizard to download it to the desktop from which you will be able to run the installation programme. If not already installed you will be required to download the 'AdobePs Installer'. Click here for the AdobePS Installer and installation instructions. How to install the Mac User PPDs Double click the file 'PrinterDrivers.sit' to self extract. Inside the folder you will find the print descriptions (PPD files). Place these in the folder: Macintosh HD > System Folder > Extensions > Printer Descriptions. Double click the 'AdobePS Installer' and follow the installation wizard. Restart the computer when completed. After restarting select 'AdobePS' in the Chooser. Preparing a printer file on a MAC For laser printing in colour or black and white select the UFO ColorFlare DC40v4.0.0 and for offset printing select the ItekCP-CPSv1.2 in the print dialogue box in your application.
